Mr. WATANABE Hiroya, WISE program student, receives the Gallery of Fluid Motion Award
Mr. WATANABE Hiroya (a second-year doctoral student in the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Professor Tagawa Yoshiyuki’s Lab.) has received the Gallery of Fluid Motion Award at the 78th Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics.
Congratulations to Watanabe san on this remarkable achievement.
■ Award
Gallery of Fluid Motion Award
■ Awardees
Representative: Mr. Watanabe Hiroya
Co-awardees: Mr. Hashimoto Kotaro, Mr. William Kai Alexander Worby
Supervisor / Co-awardee: Professor Tagawa Yoshiyuki (Institute of Global Innovation Research)
■ Award Summary
●Title: Jet Coronation
●Description:
When an impact is applied to a container filled with liquid, a thin liquid jet is generated.
This simple technique enables the ejection of highly viscous liquids and has potential applications in the injection and coating of materials such as paints and adhesives.
In this study, the researchers reported on the beautiful jet phenomena that occur under strong impact conditions.
Understanding these phenomena under various conditions is important for future engineering applications.
●Date of Award: November 24, 2025
