A press release on the research findings of Mr. AOKI Masahiro, a WISE program student and co-researchers has been issued by the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT)

A research achievement by a joint research group—including Mr. Aoki Masahiro (4th year, Integrated Doctoral Program) of the Department of Food and Energy Systems Science, Graduate School of Bio-Applications and Systems Engineering; Professor Fushimi Chihiro (Aoki’s supervisor) of the Department of Applied Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering at TUAT; and collaborators—has been featured in a university press release.

The research group clarified the high-speed heat storage and release behavior of latent heat storage particles fluidized in the medium-temperature range of approximately 100–300°C.
Furthermore, they experimentally identified the changes in particle states during this process.

This research enables the storage and release of medium-temperature waste heat (around 100–300°C) more rapidly than conventional methods.
These findings are expected to lead to more effective utilization of medium-temperature waste heat and the mitigation of demand-supply fluctuations in power plants.
