A press release on the research results of Ms. Myat Nyein Khine, WISE program student, and her group has been issued by Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT)

The research results of Ms. Myat Nyein Khine, a fourth-year doctoral student in the Department of Biotechnology and Life Science, Graduate School of Engineering, TUAT; Professor Kaori SAKURAI (her supervisor) of the Division of Biotechnology and Life Science, Institute of Engineering, TUAT; and their research group have been featured in a press release issued by TUAT.

The research group developed a biotinylated probe optimized for the identification of target proteins of OSW-1, a compound with strong and selective anticancer effect.

Their finding revealed that the length of the linker of the biotinylated probe of OSW-1 is important for effectively capturing target proteins. The study also showed that probes designed for biological effectiveness may not always be the most suitable for identifying protein targets.

This research was conducted with the support of the ‘WISE proposal-based funding’ and other grants.
