Mr. TAKENAKA Natsufumi, WISE Program student, won the “Student Outstanding Oral Presentation Award” at the 20th Meeting of the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment

Mr. Takenaka Natsufumi, a first-year master’s student in the Department of Agriculture, Graduate School of Agriculture at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Professor Kayo Chihiro Lab., won the “Student Outstanding Oral Presentation Award” at the 20th Meeting of the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment Japan in March 2025.

■Theme:
“Environmental Impact of Cultured Rice Production by Plant Cellular Agriculture”

■Contents:
Cellular agriculture, a method of producing food and other resources from cells, has been attracting attention in recent years. The findings of this study clarified the environmental impact of rice production by plant cellular agriculture (cultured rice production), which is one of these methods. This research was conducted in collaboration with the Laboratory of Environmental Plant Biotechnology at Tohoku University, with the aim of establishing sustainable plant cellular agriculture.
