Ping Liu won the Best Presentation Award at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Chemistry and Micro-Nano Systems.

The WISE student, Ms. Ping Liu won the Best Presentation Award at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Chemistry and Micro-Nano Systems.

Ms. Ping Liu, a BASE student at TUAT, presented her fundamental research related to chemistry and micro-nano systems at the 43rd meeting of the Society for Chemistry and Micro-Nano Systems. In this presentation, she attempted to identify 5-methylcytosine and its location using nanopores. This research is expected to be applied to the direct detection of 5-methylcytosine without chemical modification or other multi-step operations. This presentation received the Best Presentation Award.

Congratulations to Ping Liu!

■ Award: Best Presentation Award (Student Poster Award)

■ Title: Direct determination of DNA methylation positions using biological nanopore

■ Abstract: 5-methylcytosine plays an important role in genome stability and regulation of gene expression. In this study, we attempted to identify 5-methylcytosine and its position using nanopores. This research is expected to be applied to the detection of 5-methylcytosine directly without chemical modification or other multi-step operations.
