Mr. MATSUNO Takayuki, WISE Program student, won the “Student Presentation Award” at the 85th Symposium of Kanto Branch of the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan

Mr. MATSUNO Takayuki, a first-year student (supervised by Associate Professor MORI Keiji) in the Department of Applied Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, has been awarded “Student Presentation Award” at the 85th Symposium of the Kanto Blanch of the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan.
Congratulations, Matsuno san!

Theme: “Construction of carbon-fused ring skeleton by hydrido rearrangement-type double C(sp3)-H bond functionalization based on traceless activation group strategy

Content: This research is related to the development of an organic synthesis method (C-H bond functionalization) that produces less waste. This method enables the supply of complex carbon ring compounds, which are difficult to synthesize by conventional techniques, at low catalyst levels, and which could be candidates for pharmaceuticals. This research is expected to lead to the creation of pharmaceuticals with new functions and activities.

Date of Award: November 26, 2023

Academic Conference: The 85th Symposium of the Kanto Branch of the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (Niigata Symposium)
