Ms. FUIJITA Shoko, WISE Program student, won the “Student and Early Career Researcher Poster Award” at IUPAB2024
Ms. Fujita Shoko, a first-year doctoral course student in the Department of Biotechnology and Life Science, Graduate School of Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), won the “Student and Early Career Researcher Poster Award” at the joint congress of 21st IUPAB (International Union of Pure and Applied Biophysics) and 62nd BSJ (Biophysics Society of Japan) in Kyoto International Conference Center.
Congratulations, Fujita san!
Theme:
“Cell-free synthesis of hydrophobic peptides that form nanopores in bilayer lipid membranes”
Contents:
In this study, we attempted the cell-free synthesis of artificially designed hydrophobic β-sheet peptides that form nano-sized pores, and reported that the synthesis and channel current measurement were achieved while avoiding aggregation by adding lipid composition and fusion with natural proteins.
This technology is expected to be applied to nanopore sensing, a biosensing technique that enables label-free detection of single molecules.
