A press release on the research results of TAKIGUCHI Soutaro, a WISE student, and his team has been issued by the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT)

The research results of TAKIGUCHI Soutaro, a second-year doctoral student in the Department of Biotechnology and Life Science, Graduate School of Engineering, TUAT, KANBARA Fumika, a graduate student of TUAT, Professor KAWANO Ryuji (his supervisor) of the Division of Biotechnology and Life Science, Institute of Engineering, TUAT, TANI Mika, a graduate student of Kagoshima University, and Professor SUGIURA Tsuyoshi of Tohoku University, were released in a press release by TUAT.

Through this research, they succeeded in simultaneously detecting two types of microRNAs that show elevated and decreased expression in oral cancer using nanopores.

This technology is expected to be applied to Point-of-Care-Testing (POCT) for immediate diagnosis in any clinical site such as consultation office, home etc.
