Mr. SATO Issei and Ms. ITOTAGAWA Chiho, WISE Program students, each won the “Best Student Oral Presentation Award” at the 74th Annual Meeting of Japan Wood Research Society in Kyoto

Mr. Sato Issei, a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Symbiosis Science of Environment and Natural Resources, United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, TUAT, and Ms. Itotagawa Chiho, a first-year master’s student in the Department of Agriculture, Graduate School of Agriculture, TUAT, each received the “Best Student Oral Presentation Award” at the 74th Annual Meeting of Japan Wood Research Society in Kyoto.

●Mr. Sato’s presentation theme:
“Greenhouse gas balance in woody biomass-derived levulinic acid production in a material-energy cycle process with land-use considerations”
*This research is also the result of Cross-disciplinary Cooperative Creation Project with another WISE student, Mr. Sato Ryu, a third-year doctoral student in the Department of Food and Energy Systems Science, Graduate School of Bio-Applications and Systems Engineering.

●Ms. Itotagawa’s presentation theme:
“Analysis of seasonal variations in tissue and intracellular localization of a protease RD21 in ray parenchyma cells of Populus suaveolens by immunolabeling”
