Research results of Ms. IWASA Marina, WISE Program student, and others have been published in Rice

The results of collaborative research by Ms. IWASA Marina, a second-year doctoral course student in the Department of Biological Production Science, United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, her advisor, Professor OOKAWA Taiichiro, and others were published on November 25, 2023 in Rice.

In this study, they have succeeded in identifying the genomic regions involved in vigorous growth of rice under deep-water conditions to reduce herbicides and suppress weed infestation in rice paddies.
It is expected that the genomic regions identified in this study will be used to improve rice varieties, leading to the expansion of sustainable agricultural production with reduced herbicide use.
